Kieran Lindsay
Society Founder
In February 2018, Kieran started to play golf for the first time and instantly fell in love with the sport. After completing a couple of lessons with Richard dunsby (PGA Golf Professional), he was keen to continue playing golf regularly.
With a lack of close friends interested in the sport and a fear of not being good enough to take part in other existing societies in Dubai, Kieran approached Richard and shared the idea of setting up SGS. Getting more people involved in the sport and providing opportunities for existing keen golfers to play regularly in a social environment is integral to SGS .
With over 10 years of experience in events, digital, social and marketing Kieran is set out to create a leading digitally Smart, Value adding and Social Society that welcomes everyone.
Ben Hoyle
Society Chairman
Ben Hoyle, moved to Dubai with his Wife Caroline In 2017 and works in the Civil Aviation Industry in the region as Business Unit Manager. Passionate about the game of golf and having started playing in the UK at quite a late age of 18 years old went on to become a member of Burnham on Crouch GC in Essex playing in the Jubilee Cup before moving on to Maldon GC in Essex and then finally Thorpeness Golf Club in Suffolk.
Having really enjoyed the social aspects of belonging to a golf club in the UK, upon arrival in Dubai he quickly realized that the culture within most of the Golf Clubs in the UAE was quite different and lacked certain aspects of the social scene so was very excited to learn about the Social Golf Society when invited by a friend to attend a game on a Monday evening. As soon as Ben joined the SGS for that first Monday game he was immediately impressed and blown away by the friendly and welcoming attitude of all of the members and the social aspects that the Society offers whilst providing the pathway to golf for all levels of golfer whether a complete novice or experienced.
Ben is honored to have been selected to be the Vice Chairman of the Social Golf Society and looks forward to representing the Society and its members over the coming months and years.
Dave Allsopp
Society Captain
Dave Allsopp has been a keen golfer for more than 30 years, and fortunate enough to have played in many worldwide locations. Dave and his wife Clare arrived in Dubai in March 2011, and has continued his passion for golf playing in many of Dubai’s societies. Dave was one of the very early members of SGS joining in October 2019, and was proudly voted in as the Society captain for the 2022-23 season.
Like most people Newley arriving in Dubai the first thing he wanted to establish was a social life outside of the daily working grind, SGS provided exactly that. With its growing membership numbers, and many on and off the course social events, Dave has made many lifelong friends. His golf maybe up and down but his dedication to the society remains the only solid part of his association to SGS.
